Ok, I feel much better after our walk/play. Cody, the sheppard, stands to benefit the most from these runs. He’s my real baby. At 13, he’s most likely the smartest and best dog I’ll ever have. And while I’d love to believe that his good behaviour and almost perfect response to my commands could influence the training of the spoiled-brat puppy, I’m really just grateful he’s happy.
So it’s possible playing with high-strung puppy husky ROCKY and well-rested (so just as full of energy) Cody that I feel my happiest because they’re happy too.
We spent about an hour walking for a few blocks, jogging for a few more blocks, visiting local schoolyards covered in snow and letting Cody off his leash and running with Rocky so Cody would ZOOM by and get at least twice as far and as fast as us two on the leash. I purposely ran in the thickest patches of snow so that I was forced to LIFT my legs. Running is mandatory to encourage the dogs to run too. Rocky, high-strung as she is, needs to an outlet to really run out her energy. I guess in that way, we three all benefited from the outing.
I’m really glad I went.
oh also! JN inspired me after I was bummed about my CHUMPED OUT YOGA attempt. I think I’ll start my own stretching regiment at night before bed. Spend a good 15 minutes or so. Do stretches that are mainly dance training, and add in some Abs work. This is going to be ok…. I hope
